대한민국 서울,용산 2005년 5월 13일 -- 주한 미공군 제 51 헌병대대 소속의 공군장교 1명이 송탄 순찰팀의 일원으로 근무하는 동안 미군형법을 위반한 혐의로 오늘 오산공군기지에서 기소되었다.
Yongsan Garrison, Seoul, 13 May, 2005 -- A 51st Security Forces Squadron (SFS) Airman was charged today at Osan Air Base with violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice while assigned as a member of the Songtan Town Patrol.
제이슨 D. 데이비스 중위는 지난 2005년 3월 1일 체포된 이래 구속상태에 있었으며 강간, 폭행, 뇌물수수, 탈취, 절도, 간통 그리고 법률적인 명령 및 규정 위반, 고의적인 직무태만, 허위진술 및 품위유지 위반등 여러 가지 범죄 혐의로 기소되었다.
First Lieutenant Jason D. Davis, who has been in pre-trial confinement since his apprehension March 1, 2005, was charged with multiple offenses including rape, assault, bribery, extortion, larceny, adultery, violations of both lawful orders and regulations, willful dereliction of duty, making false official statements, and conduct unbecoming an officer.
데이비스는 중위는 미 공군과 한국경찰의 합동조사 결과 체포되어 민간사법절차와 동등한 미군형법 32조에 의한 청문회가 열릴 때까지 캠프 험프리에 있는 미군 시설에 구금되며 군사재판 소집권자인 미 제7공군사령관 게리 R. 트릭슬러 중장이 추가적인 결정을 내리게 될 것이다.
Davis was apprehended as a result of a joint Air Force - Korean National Police investigation. He has been held in confinement at Camp Humphreys pending an Article 32 hearing, equivalent to a civilian grand jury proceeding, that will consider the charges and recommend further action to the general court-martial convening authority, 7th Air Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Garry R. Trexler.
데이비스 중위는 또한 영외거주지역에서의 총기/도검/폭발물 단속법 위반 혐의에 대해 한국의 사법당국에 의해 기소될 수 있으며 또한 한국 검찰은 추에 추가적인 법죄행위에 대해서도 기소할 수 있다.
Davis also faces prosecution by Korean authorities on charges of possessing weapons at an off-base residence in violation of Korean law. Korean authorities may also file additional charges at a later date.
No date has been set for the Article 32 hearing. At the appropriate time in the legal process, more details will be made available to the public.
